Once a year the teachers of NEU Nicosia ‘nail their colours to the mast’ and show their own work, talk about their visions, and are open to face judgement by the students and the public. And many of them came and shoved through the exhibition halls of the Atatürk Cultural Centre where works of various disciplines, painting, graphic design, printing, ceramics, installations and photography were displayed. It was a good presentation of teaching art on university level. New forms of art are coming to the foreground, digital art, stencil art, photography, etc. and all kinds of material are being used to make a statement. Some fine new art works and techniques were shown.

Some of the teachers are working for their doctorate besides teaching, also preparing for exhibitions and in the background they concentrate on their own artistic development. A tough time schedule, however, I think a most rewarding one since they can share their knowledge with future generations.
