Feb 13: Branko Franceschi invites artists in Cyprus to discuss their work at EMAA Nicosia

Confrontation Through Art

European Mediterranean Art Association (EMAA) and its partner organizing Rooftop Theatre Group, are organizing a get together with the local artists and the visiting Croatian curator Branko Franceschi at EMAA Capital Art Center on February 13th Friday evening at 18:00 o'clock. The aim of this meeting is to give an opportunity to local artists to introduce themselves and their art works to curator for future collaborations.

Mr Francheschi is currently curating a residency program in Nicosia titled ‘Stimulating synapse’. This residency is being implemented within the framework of the EU funded project "Confrontation Through Art: Contemporary Art as an Instrument for Reconciliation in Cyprus", 2014-2017.

Branko Franceschi ( Zadar, Croatia, 1959) is director of the Museum of Fine Arts in Split, Croatia www.galum.hr. From 1987 to 2004 he was a program director at the Miroslav Kraljevic Gallery in Zagreb, from 2004 to 2008 an executive director of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rijeka, Croatia, in 2008 - 2010 a director of the Croatian Association of the Visual Artists in Zagreb, Croatia, in 2010 - 2014 Franceschi was director of the Virtual Museum of Avant-garde Art www.avantgarde-museum.com and president of the Institute for the Research of Avant-garde.
