Beginning 2016, I discussed with the members of Thursday Art Group to go for a change and look for another place to work, in first place to change atmosphere. We ended up in Halfway House Restaurant on the way up to Karmi. In winter we worked inside with a wood fire burning in the fire place, it was very stimulating. As soon as the weather permitted we would paint in the garden of the restaurant which is so full of bric à brac, lovingly cared for by the owner, Yashin, who keeps a wonderful Turkish cuisine going, everything fresh, and every Thursday there was some fresh rolls for us or pieces of delicious cakes. We worked there until the big heat came, that was end of June 2016. It was a wonderful experience for all of us and we had very interesting models; there was mom Sherife with 94 years, Yashin herself and friends of the house, Ali Bey and there were friends from Holland and friends from Iran who joined us for painting and they persuaded their partners to sit for us, René, Hans and Neshin’s mom from Iran who was a teacher for calligraphy.
