The jury members İbrahim Zaman, Prof. Dr. Güler Ertan,
both from Turkey and Doç. Dr. Gökçe
Keçeci Şekeroğlu from NEU in Nicosia had some hard time to decide on the
winners of the 2014 ÖZTAN ÖZATAY Photo Competition. On last Wednesday they announced
their choice in front of the media in the Nicosian Hotel Golden Tulip. Here are the names listed for the
photographic winners in different categories and the value of the award.
The Öztan Özatay Award went to “Festival”
by Kamil Saldun (Canon EOS 650D
18-55 IS Kit);
The Rauf Raif
Denktaş award went to “A car’s dream”
by Gökhan Saymaz (1,500TL);
The Kemal
Saraçoğlu award went to “Müzik” by Ebru Uskan Akaçalı (1,250 TL);
The Rauf Raif Denktaş award went to “Sonsuzluk” by Arif İşgüzar (1,500TL);
The Öztan Özatay award
went to Düşeş” by Mustafa Evirgen (Canon EOS 1100D 18-55
IS Kit);
The Türkiye İş
Bankası award went to “Eski dostlar” by Tijen Erol Yakup (1,000TL);
The Rauf Raif Denktaş award went to “Uzaylı” by Mustafa
Evirgen (1500TL);
The Öztan Özatay award
went to “Yemek vakti” by Erim Tandoğdu (Olympus Yarı Profesyonel
Dijital Fotoğraf Makinesi).
The special Jury
awards went to “Bir umuttur yaşamak” by Gökhan
Gökberk,
and to “Ana yüreği” by Birtan Gökeri.
The Öztan Özatay Foundatıon
has it made a rule to raise each year TL 15 as fee per each participant in the
competition and the amount plus 50% of any sale of photographs will go the following
associations: Kemal Saraçoğlu Lösemili Çocuklar ve Kanserle Savaş Vakfı
(Children with Leukemia and those with cancer).
The exhibition of the photos chosen for exhibition and the
award ceremony will take place on 18 March and will last until 29 March 2014. I
shall report on the opening and show the best photos. For the moment the complete
