Keten is an artist deeply concerned about his country, the earth, our nature
and humanity… the species of which contradict the original meaning of humanity.
We seem to forget that the earth is our mother, we are born from earth. We
treat the earth like an enemy.
This
concern he expressed in our interview which we led in 2006 which was then
published in my book ‘Art and Creativity in North Cyprus/Kuzey Kibris’ta Sanat
ve Yaratıcılık’ first volume.
I
followed him and his work over the years, wrote many reviews and found that he
has never given up his concern and he made this concern his tool in his art. I
often visited him in his studio in the Arabahmet Quarter, where he teaches art
students the proper understanding of art as such and the correct use of techniques
and tools. In the link below the reader will find my words confirmed.

Soil
from Earth, the material he used for the artworks in his latest exhibition to
demonstrate the origin we come from, to demonstrate with colour and symbols added
the status it has in our existence, wounds in our existence being repaired by
twine… if we let it happen?
A
beautiful exhibition in the Dental Clinic at the Near East University, it will
be open until 24 July 2020; viewing times are 08:00 – 16:00 hrs.
