The Pharos Arts Foundation, in collaboration with the Embassy of Spain in Cyprus, presents a guitar recital with the sensational French guitarist Florian Larousse – First Prize winner of the 2014 Seville International Guitar Competition. The recital will take place on Saturday 12 December 2015 / 8:30pm, at The Shoe Factory, Nicosia. Larousse, with his guitar in hand, will travel us back and forth in time, for an atmospheric and wide-ranging programme spanning from the poetic landscape of English Renaissance (John Dowland) through the exotic and unconventional sounds of Far East (Toru Takemitsu) to the dreamy and passionate tunes of Spain (Joaquin Turina and Fernando Sor).

FLORIAN LAROUSSE / guitar

Florian Larousse beg! an his study of the guitar at the age of eight with Philippe Vanderstichel. He continued his musical education under the tutelage of guitarist Pedro Ibanez at the Conservatoire National de Région de Paris and obtained the First Prize in 2006. Entering the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris the same year, he studied in Roland Dyens’s class until 2009 while also working intensively with Judicaël Perroy. In 2013, he graduated with a Masters degree from the Maastricht Conservatory, where he studied with Carlo Marchione.

His victories at the Guitar Foundation of America’s Competition in 2009 and at the Hubert Kappel Competition in Koblenz have assured him a large international audience with a 55-concerts tour in 2010-2011 in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, as well as a CD recording with Naxos and a DVD recording with Melbay. His international awards also include First Prize at the José Tomás International Competition in 2007, First Prize a! t the Jan Edmund Jurkowski Memorial Guitar Competition inTychy, Poland, and Second Prize at the Tokyo International Competition, amongst others.

In 2014, Larousse won the First Prize at the V Concurso Internacional de la Guitarra de Sevilla. His prize includes a recording with Contrastes Records.

Το Ίδρυμα Τεχνών Φάρος, με τη συνεργασία της Πρεσβείας της Ισπανίας στην Κύπρο, παρουσιάζει ένα ρεσιτάλ κιθάρας με τον εξαιρετικό Γάλλο κιθαρίστα Florian Larousse – Νικητή του Πρώτου Βραβείου στον Διεθνή Διαγωνισμό Κιθάρας της Σεβίλλης το 2014. Το ρεσιτάλ θα πραγματοποιηθεί το Σάββατο 12 Δεκεμβρίου 2015 στο The Shoe Factory, Λευκωσία / 8:30μμ. Ο Larousse θα μας ταξιδέψει με την κιθάρα του πίσω και μπροστά στον χρόνο, σε ένα ατμοσφαιρικό και ποικίλο πρόγραμμα το οποίο εκτείνεται από τους ποιητικούς ήχους της αγγλικής αναγεννησιακής μουσικής (Τζον Ντόουλαντ) μέχρι τους εξωτικούς και μη-συμβατικούς ήχους της Άπω Ανατολής (Τόρου Τακεμίτσου) και στις ονειρικές, γεμάτες πάθος μελωδίες της Ισπανίας (Χοακίν Τουρίνα και Φερνάντο Σορ).

Ο Florian Larousse ξεκίνησε μαθήματα κιθάρας στην ηλικία των οκτώ υπό τον Philippe Vanderstichel. Συνέχισε τις σπουδές του στο Εθνικό Κονσερβατόριο του Παρισιού υπό τον κιθαρίστα Pedro Ibanez, όπου κέρδισε και το Πρώτο Βραβείο το 2006. Ακολούθως, έγινε δεκτός στην τάξη του Roland Dyens στο Ανώτατο Εθνικό Ωδείο του Παρισιού (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris), όπου φοίτησε μέχρι το 2009, ενώ παράλληλα παρακολούθησε εντατικά μαθήματα από τον Judicaël Perroy. Το 2013, αποφοίτησε με μεταπτυχιακό Masters από το Κονσερβατόριο του Μάαστριχτ, όπου σπούδασε υπό τον Carlo Marchione.

Οι νίκες του στον Διεθνή Διαγωνισμό Κιθάρας του Αμερικανικού Ιδρύματος, το 2009, και στον Διαγωνισμό Hubert Kappel στην Κόμπλεντς της Γερμανίας, εξασφάλισαν στον Larousse ένα τεράστιο διεθνές ακροατήριο σε μια περιοδεία 55 συναυλιών μεταξύ του 2010 και του 2011, στις ΗΠΑ, Καναδά, Μεξικό και Βραζιλί! α, καθώς και ένα CD με τη Naxos και ένα DVD με τη Melbay. Τα βραβεία του περιλαμβάνουν, μεταξύ άλλων, Πρώτο Βραβείο στον Διεθνή Διαγωνισμό José Tomás το 2007, Πρώτο Βραβείο στον Διαγωνισμό Κιθάρας Jan Edmund Jurkowski στην Πολωνία, και Δεύτερο Βραβείο στον Διεθνή Διαγωνισμό Κιθάρας του Τόκιο.
