This is an exhibition of paintings of Turkish Cypriot, Greek Cypriot, Syrian Cypriot and Italian Cypriot artists, brought together by "Together we can" Association - the Bicommunal Initiative of Relatives of Missing Persons and Victims of Massacres and War and the Nilgun Guney Art Studio.
Artists met relatives of "missing persons" from both communities, visited exhumation sites and spots where massacres took place in both parts of the island in 1963 and 1974.
Investigative journalist Sevgul Uludag co-facilitated the coming together of painters from the two sides of the island in a series of workshops together with artist Nilgun Guney. The workshops included testimonies from relatives of "missing persons" and victims of massacres, visits to the homes of victims of war and site visits to mass graves in both parts of the island.
The exhibition is sponsored by the Goethe Institute in Cyprus.
The exhibition will be opened on the 15th of March 2013 at 6.30 p.m. in the presence of the artists.

Ausstellung von Gemälden Türkischer und Griechischer Zyprioten sowie Syrisch- und Italienischstämmiger Zyprioten, allesamt Künstler, die sich bei "Together we can", einer bi-kommunalen Initiative von Verwandten vermisster Personen und Kriegsopfern kennenlernten und sich regelmäßig im Studio von Nilgün Güney zu gemeinsamem Schaffen und Austausch treffen.
Die Künstler trafen Verwandte von Vermissten beider Volksgruppen, besuchten gemeinsam Exhumierungsorte und Stätten, an denen zwischen 1963 und 1974 in beiden Teilen der Insel Massaker stattgefunden hatten. Die investigative Journalistin Sevgül Uludag brachte die Künstler zusammen und motivierte sie, sich regelmäßig im Studio von Nilgün Güney zu treffen und auszutauschen. Dort lernten die Künstler auch die Verwandten von Vermissten und Opfer von Massakern kennen und hörten deren Lebensgeschichten, trafen sich in den Häusern von Kriegsopfern und besuchten gemeinsam die Massengräber in beiden Teilen der Insel.
Die Ausstellung wird seitens des Goethe-Instituts Zypern gefördert.
