Where the locals have settled, where they live, with the hens in the backyard cackling, Meral Yilmaz has opened a small restaurant, like an eagle’s nest, to feed the thirsty and hungry. The guests may either sit inside in the octagon-shaped hut where at the bar Mehmet, the husband and bartender creates his most exciting cocktails in your favourite colour if you wish, or you choose to sit with your friends in a “chambre separée” or in the garden section well protected.
Half way up to Ilgaz surrounded by green hills and a good glimpse on the blue sea - especially for hikers a heaven sent resting place – Sweet Valley opens at 11:00 in the morning and takes care of all appetites right through to 23:00 hrs daily.
The menu card promises dishes for all stages of hunger, from salads, omelettes and crepes to sandwiches and burgers; as main dishes there is a known variety of kebabs and shishes but every day a true typical Cypriot dish and mezes and always cool drinks.
What I find interesting is the fact that Meral offers to arrange for parties; you can hire the place and she will organize a custom made buffet or full meal custom made. You just discuss your wishes with her.
