Learning to see and understand by working three-dimensional
By
Heidi Trautmann
It
is quite a new experience to work 3-dimensional, be it with clay, stone or any
other material. It is not only the material you have to learn about, its
quality, its reactions during work, during the drying and firing processes. It
is also the characteristics of the object you have in mind. If you plan to do a
head, you will realize that you don’t know exactly how your head is built up,
what do the ears look like, where do
they sit. Here comes the fun to work in a group, you can ask your neighbour to
serve as a model.
EMAA
offer art courses around the year, especially in those times when there are
school or university holidays, or courses in the evenings. Courses for adults
and children in various disciplines.
On
July 26, the students of the last sculpting course were proudly showing their
work and they received certificates out of the hands of Mr. Mehmet Harmanci,
the Mayor of Lefkosa who is very supportive of culture and art. It was with
great pleasure to see their work.
