1005: EMAA Sculpting Course Students exhibit their works Learning to see and understand
8/1/2018

Learning to see and understand by working three-dimensional

By Heidi Trautmann

It is quite a new experience to work 3-dimensional, be it with clay, stone or any other material. It is not only the material you have to learn about, its quality, its reactions during work, during the drying and firing processes. It is also the characteristics of the object you have in mind. If you plan to do a head, you will realize that you don’t know exactly how your head is built up, what do  the ears look like, where do they sit. Here comes the fun to work in a group, you can ask your neighbour to serve as a model.

EMAA offer art courses around the year, especially in those times when there are school or university holidays, or courses in the evenings. Courses for adults and children in various disciplines.

On July 26, the students of the last sculpting course were proudly showing their work and they received certificates out of the hands of Mr. Mehmet Harmanci, the Mayor of Lefkosa who is very supportive of culture and art. It was with great pleasure to see their work.

Contact EMAA if you are interested. They are on facebook. (Ctrl and click EMAA Başkent Sanat Merkezi).

The exhibition is still on until Augst 03 between 18:00 and 21:00 hrs.
