Gabriel Dandan lives and works in Beirut. He visits Cyprus frequently where he has had several exhibitions over the past two years. These visits are reflected in his recent work which focuses on Cyprus. He spent his childhood in South America returning to Lebanon to graduate in Business Studies. He is a self taught artist. During his studies he exhibited his work in Lebanon, and since then has painted only for pleasure while his working life in the U.S. took precedence. With his eventual return to the Middle East he once again devoted most of his time to painting. The diverse cultures he has experienced during his travels are reflected in the wide variety of scenes in his imaginative and interpretive paintings, from streets and markets to the moods of the sea. His paintings exhibit figurative, impressionist and abstract qualities.
