Painting exhibition of two Cypriot-Lebanese artists, Alexander Seroff and Sousan Itayim and exhibition of ancient maps and lithographies belonging to Cypriot-Lebanese collector Dr. Wael Khaddage. Organized by the Embassy of Lebanon in Cyprus.

SOUSAN ITAYIM

Sousan Itayim vit à Chypre depuis 30 ans. Elle a obtenu sa licence en Sciences Économiques de l'Université Américaine de Beyrouth avant de poursuivre ses études à l'Université de Vanderbilt aux États Unis. Elle a enseigné les Sciences Économiques pendant 22 ans aux États Unis ainsi qu'à Intercollege à Chypre. Inspirée par sa mère qui est peintre, l'art a toujours été la véritable passion de Sousan qui utilise le procédé du collage, la peinture acrylique et la technique mixte pour créer des œuvres semi-abstraites, dont les thèmes exaltent son imagination.

Η Σουσάν Ιταγίμ ζει στην Κύπρο τα τελευταία 30 χρόνια. Σπούδασε στο Αμερικάνικο Πανεπιστήμιο της Βηρυτού όπου πήρε το πτυχίο της στα οικονομικά και ακολούθως έκανε τις μεταπτυχιακές της σπουδές, και πάλι στα οικονομικά, στην Αμερική. Δίδαξε οικονομικά για 22 χρόνια, τόσο στην Αμερική, όσο και στο Intercollege στην Κύπρο.

Το αληθινό, όμως, πάθος της Σουσάν ήταν πάντοτε η ζωγραφική. Η πρώτη της επαφή με τη ζωγραφική έγινε μέσω της μητέρας της, που και η ίδια είναι ζωγράφος.

Sousan Itayim has been living in Cyprus since her 30s. She graduated from the American University of Beirut with a degree in Financial Sciences and then continued her studies in the University of Vanderbilt in the USA. She has been teaching Financial Sciences for 22 years in the USA as well as in Intercollege in Cyprus.

Inspired by her mother who is a painter, the art has been always the real passion of Sousan. She uses the technique of collage, acrylic paint and the mixed technique in order to create semi-abstract works of art, the subjects of which exalt her imagination.

ALEXANDER SEROFF

Alexander Seroff est né à Chypre d'une mère chypriote et d'un père libanais-russe.

De nationalité chypriote et libanaise, Seroff a poursuivi ses études à l'Université Américaine de Beyrouth. Il a commencé sa carrière en travaillant pour des institutions financières de premier plan.

De retour à Chypre depuis 1997, ses liens sont restés très forts avec le Liban françaises où il a fait ses études et la France où il a entamé sa carrière. Et il attribue sa passion pour l'art et la littérature à son rapprochement de la culture et la vie de ses deux pays qui lui sont chers, notamment la France et le Liban.

O Αλέξανδρος Seroff γεννήθηκε στην Κύπρο από Κύπρια μητέρα και Ρωσσολιβάνιο πατέρα. Με Κυπριακή και Λιβανική Υπηκοότητα, ο Seroff συνέχισε τις σπουδές του στο αμερικανικό πανεπιστήμιο της Βηρυτού . Άρχισε τη σταδιοδρομία του εργαζόμενος σε γαλλικά χρηματοπιστωτικά ιδρύματα.

Eπιστρέφοντας στην Κύπρο από το 1997, οι δεσμοί του παρέμειναν ισχυροί τόσο με το Λίβανο, όπου εκπαιδεύτηκε όσο και με τη Γαλλία, όπου άρχισε την καριέρα του. Και αυτός αποδίδει το πάθος του για την τέχνη και τη λογοτεχνία προσεγγίζοντας τον πολιτισμό και τη ζωή και των δύο χωρών που είναι αγαπητές σε αυτόν, της Γαλλίας και του Λιβάνου.

Alexander Seroff was born in Cyrpus from a Cypriot mother and a Lebanese-Russian father. Being of Cypriot and Lebanese nationality, Seroff studied in the American University of Beirut. He started his career working for the leading French financial institutions.
After returning to Cyprus in 1997, his bonds with Lebanon where he studied and with France where he started his career, are still very strong. Seroff attributes his passion for art and literature to his connection with the culture and the life of his two favorite countries, France and Lebanon.

Dr. WAEL KHADDAGE

A part son dévouement à la médecine en général et sa spécialité dermatologique en particulier qui le poussent à rester à jour avec toutes les nouveautés du domaine, Dr. Wael Khaddage a une passion envoûtante pour les livres anciens, la lithographie, les cartes anciennes, cartes postales (etc.), principalement ceux relatifs au Levant.

Εκτός από την αφοσίωσή του στην ιατρική και στη Δερματολογία που είναι η ειδικότητά του, αφοσίωση που τον οδηγεί να παραμένει ενήμερος για όλες τις καινοτομίες του κλάδου του, ο Δρ Wael Khaddage έχει πάθος και τον γοητεύουν τα παλιά βιβλία, οι λιθογραφίες, οι παλιοί χάρτες, οι καρτ-ποστάλ (κ.λπ.), που σχετίζονται κυρίως με την Εγγύς Ανατολή.

Apart from his devotion to medicine in general and his specialization in dermatology in particular, which made him be up-to-date with every novelty of this field, Dr. Wael Khaddage has a unique passion for ancient books, lithography, ancient maps, postal cards (etc.), mainly for those related to the Levant.
