Many years ago I was asked to translate Maureen's texts about walking tours, orchids and many other plants, traditional customs and village life for a local newspaper and a tourist magazine; I accepted with pleasre because I had high respect for Maureen, her endless activities and her passion to introduce Cyprus' fauna and flora to visitors. Doing the translations I learnt a lot and I often talked to her on the phone asking for a more detailed description when something was not clear to me.
One of the trekking paths should be given her name to remind of a great woman.

|For anyone who might be interested, this is just to inform you that we will be having a special memorial day for Maureen Hutchinson at Carpenters market this week. All the stall holders will wear something red as this was her favourite colour, we will have a minutes silence at approxamately 11-30, in her honour and there will be a book of rememberence available for anyone wishing to sign it. Hope to see lots of you there.
