OPEN CALL for 2 Cypriot Artists to participate in the 
International Artists Residency, 9 – 18 February 2015 - Nicosia
January 2015, Nicosia - The European Mediterranean Art Association (EMAA) and the Rooftop Theatre Group are announcing their first Open Call for a visual-arts, a 10-day Residency / workshop / exhibition, which will take place in mid February 2015, within the framework of the EU funded project "Confrontation Through Art: Contemporary Art as an Instrument for Reconciliation in Cyprus", 2014-2017.

The Residency will be curated by the well-known Croatian curator Branko Franceschi, under his proposed concept title ‘Stimulating synapse’. Three more European artists are already invited to participate in this Nicosia Residency, Ana Elizabet, Paul Devens and Carl Michael von Hausswolff

The two Cypriot artists will be selected by the curator through this open call. Cypriot Artists have 10 days to apply and will be notified by the beginning of February 2015.

The team of 5 artists (3 European and 2 Cypriot) lead by the curator and supported by the project coordinators will be hosted in the old city of Nicosia. They will live and work together on the concept proposed from Monday the 9th till Wednesday the 18th and produce an exhibition of their artistic endeavour. The exhibition will open at EMAA Capital Art Centre with the end of the residency on the 18th, and will also be moved to the CVAR Centre for Visual Arts and Research in the old city of Nicosia later on.
